89 240sx not starting

okay so i just picked up this car and it doesnt run. i already have a new engine but no way of putting it in right now so i figure ill tinker with this one abit to see if i can see whats wrong with it. so the guy that i bought it from says the timing is off and he just replaced the headgasket. the oil is milky so im assuming coolant or water is getting into the engine somehow.. somebody said it probably has a cracked block, but these things are made out of cast iron so i cant see one cracking very easy. does anybody else have any ideas on what it could be? sorry if im being vague but im no mechanic lol

No idea what is wrong with the car but........

I got a motor swap a while back and I took the old motor out and took it all apart. I wasn't much of a mechanic either but I took the old motor apart to see how everything works and to see if I could put it all back together. Now I have a shop

I know this didn't help you much with your car problems but I am just saying that if it is all messed up and you have a new motor on the way, why don't you pull it, put it on the stand, and let the learning/fun begin!
