89 240sx ka24e - poor idle and bogs out after 3000 rpm

when i start the car the idle sucks. just about dies till i can adjust it, i adjust it to around 700-800. still bounces around alittle between 500 to 1000 rpm. but it stays running. so i take it out and drive it. accelerate through 1st gear, bogs at around 3000 rpm and then starts to pull hard agian at 4500. same for all the gears. drives fine when cruising. but after driving and coming to a stop the idle sucks agian. will stall out if i dont feather the throttle. its got me stumped. i hooked up a vacuum gauge and the needle on the gauge jumps rapidly around 15 psi. cant find any vacuum leaks. dont know what to look for. any help?

also, the egr and aiv have been removed.

Check your IAC/V. Clean if needed. There is a stickie at the top of NOM that tells you how to do it.
