I recently peuchased an 89 240sx and initially it ran fantastic. Now intermittantly when starting out the RPM's drop like it is not getting enough gas, if I push in the clutch and slowly press the accelerator I can bring the RPM's back up and it will run fine for while. I have had the fuel injectors rebuilt and cleaned - no change. Replaced the fuel pressure regulator - no change, now I have been told by the shop that I need to replace a small vacuum solenoid located on the back of the engine that supplies vacuum to the fuel pressure regulator. Sometimes the car won't start and if vacuum is supplied with a hand held vacuum pump it wil start right up. I have already spent several hundred dollars and all I keep hearing from the shop is well it looks like it might be something else. Please any insight would be greatly appreciated
