I have a 89 240sx automatic with ka24e engine. The motor was just replaced with a junkyard motor with 30k miles. Once i got it back, there still seemed to be some hesitation. Off the line, if i dont give it too much gas, it stutters a bit, but if i give it a decent amount of gas, it seems to be fine. Also, when i get around 2500 rpm's, the power seems to go away, this happens all the way up till 3500 rpms. Once past there, it doesnt seem to have any problems. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what may be the problem? Thanks

Were all the tune up parts new? That might be a good start.

Only new stuff is alternator, drive belts, and oil filter. Plugs and wires are almost new, from old motor..gonna replace them once i get paid. He adjusted the timing today and it helped out a good bit with the hesitation. Doesnt do it off the line anymore, but theres still a little bit as soon as i hit 2500 rpms..and once i'm past 3500 all is well.

I would try the fuel filter and distributor cap and rotor. Helped out with mine quite a bit. Another thing you might wanna check out is the sticky on AIV removal. I did that as well and I noticed a big difference.

Actually cap and rotor are were replaced with plugs and wires. Fuel filter will get replaced when I buy plugs. I'm gonna replace the plugs, oxygen sensor, coolant temperature sensor, switch the msd blaster coil with a bosch one, and maybe a new mafs, cuz I think the wiring for it might be bad, because jiggling the wires completely cleared up some idle probs i was having when i first got the car.

Then after its running right comes my struts & springs and stb's.
