I believe you did not run the test correctly because no 240 would run decently with compression that low.Click below for the whole procedure explained.

You should figure out what's actually wrong before you go changing things willy-nilly. For all you know, your camshaft could be out of phase. Mine were off one tooth on the cam chain (DOHC), and the compression was 150, but my cylinder leakage was 8%, so couldn't figure out what was wrong. Turned the cams one tooth forward and my compression went up to 190 across the board (I assume it went over stock compression due to my engine modifications).

I still dont think you ran the procedure correctly. Your car would be blowing out nasty smoke if the compression was truly that low and the motor would run like crap. You wouldnt be asking if you can put a turbo on it unless you had some confidence that your car was running ok, am I right?

I'm new here but didn't I read that the late KA24E SOHC motors had 8.6:1 compression? If that's the case, the compression would be just about 125PSI. I'm not saying it's correct, just that I read it here!

i got a 125 also, across the board. Put a little oil in the spark plug hole and pumped out 200-210. If i don't get a CA soon, i'll be rebuild the single cam. Or atleast new rings.

Also, with 125, my motor runs super strong.

ya i am now turbo SOHC kae and my compression went from185 on all 4 to 135 ish on all 4. doesnt smoke at all, but is alot slower than before. idk what happened to it. it doesnt burn oil or coolant. did a leakdown test and had air comming out of my oil filler cap.

It was probably your rings going to all hell or a new set of rings seating themselves.

I think I maybe wrong if it is a SOHC. I am sorry, I thought you had a DOHC. I guess I wanst paying enough attention.

It looks like there is air coming out of the oil filler cap on mine too, there is a spray of oil around it.

if you are rolling it over with out the filler cap on you are going to get some air cause your crank case preasure has to go some where right? at least tats how it is on diesel engines so you would get puffs of air.

no, replace the motor or just rebuild it. 125 psi is terrible compression. the pistons are not sealing in the combustion chamber the way they should be which burns more oil and eventually wont seal anymore at all and you car will just be blowing smoke out of it. get a new one. i had a leakdown test preformed on my motor to determine where i was loosing compression, it was comming out of the oil filler cap. that means that the piston rings are not doing their job sealing the combustion chamber and they are letting air by them. that is a bad thing. take your car to a mechanic and have them tell you what is wrong. dont throw a bunch of money into the motor if its really dead and needs a fresh rebuild. trust me i learned the hard way.
