I recently did a tune up on my stock 89 240 (plugs, wires, tie rods, fuel injectors and starter). The car starts up in half a second but then the car idles a bit rough. Kinda jumps between 6 - 9 rpms. When driving it sputters a bit and its enough to have me concerned. The injectors I bought were remanufactured oem. When I punch the car it will sputter for half a second and then pick up just fine. Iv'e checked all of my hoses and ground wires, battery and alternator are new. I'm thinking it has to be the injectors??? One more thing, I was playing around with the injectors and when I loosen the wire harness from the top gas sprays out (from the top!?) My old ones did NOT do that, is that normal? Any help would be great!

Sounds like you got a bad injector, fuel should never spray out the top of a injector.

I second the Killer on this one.

Bad/torn O-rings, incorrect type O-rings, improperly installed injectors, or incorrect injectors. Or all four.

Just relaced all of the injector seals and still the same. Im not sure it is the injectors for some reason when I have my lights on the problem gets worse... The battery seems fine. N e ideas? Its def not the alternator.

Did you check that all your cylinders are working?

Just unplug a spark plug boot while it's running, and see if the idle changes. And see that it arcs from the boot to the valve cover when you pull it out. If there's a change plug it in and go to the next. If you come to one that doesn't change it, check the resistance on the plug wire, and take the plug out, see that it looks okay, and press the electrode against the block while running the motor (will be loud, or put another plug in) and make sure it sparks.

If all your plugs and wires are correct and it's not an actual miss, then check for codes. Especially MAFS or TPS codes.

I'm guessing a combination clogged EGR, PCV, IACV valve(s), and TPS/MAFS.

You can use seafoam, especially the spray kind, or normal carb cleaner, sprayed carefully and slowly into the lines feeding said valves, and use a multimeter to check your TPS.

TPS causes rough idle that can be at the wrong speed as temp and such changes, but it sounds like you also have some sort of other hunt issue.
