89 240sx Front defrost problem

Hey I just joined this is my first post I got a bit of an issue with my 240, the heater works, fan speed works, hot-cold works, every other option face, feet all work but when I put it on defrost no air comes out the windshield vent and when I put it on feet + defrost the air comes out the face and feet i just cant get it out the windshield vent I have searched and havent found anyone with the same problem I am thinking its the motor that switches vents but all the other settings work and I am not sure howmany motors there are for the vents if its just 1 that does all or 1 for each setting so if anyones heard of this before or knows what it might be that would be great

Theirs only one blend door motor and id say its rather that, or an issue with your head unit.
