How old are the plugs? If they have been in there a while, I would go ahead and replace them (make sure to gap appropriately). I would also validate timing as well.

You probably messed up the plugs more when you took them out and tried to clean them up. Just replace the plugs and the plug wires to while you're at it, and if that doesn't work then it could be a number of other things.

if your plugs are WET, id go with the injectors too... but definitely replace the plugs first and see what happens......

i replace the plugs and it stayed idle pretty well for a while but it smoked like hell..i pressed on the throttle and my whole garage was filled with smoke...it took 30 min to air out my garage. i don't think its the injectors becuase all of them are wet when i check the plugs after i replace them. can someone tell me how to diagnose the fpr.

so..i was reading and a lot of people says if i get white smoke then i'm burning coolent and i should do a compression test. i went out and bought a compression tester and tell me if i did it wrong. first i took the wire from the ignitor coil so there is no spark. then i took one spark off and put in the tester and crank the car over for a couple of second. my result came back 95,120,115,115. i thought i did the first one wrong so i did it again and instead of 95psi it came out to 115. so is the compression good??? if it is good then what can i check next about my white smoking problem???

Jesus that is horrid compression sorry mang. Does thes smoke smell sweet? Most likely, with the white smoke and plugs fowling your getting water into your cyls. Headgasket broham... It sucks, but.. happens to us all sooner or later. I was never that lucky always had to be a rod knock.

Milky white/foamy oil = blown head gasket.

I'm actually doing a write up on it right now. Relatively simple, but pictures & writing take a while, haha, and I've been lazy. It will be done soon.

You may want to check your head for warping since you are taking it out anyway, doesn't cost that much to rebuild a sohc head. O yea, and new head bolts, hehe.

Where are you located? Still fresh in my mind (did mine a month ago), so I could probably help out some.

I'll continue working on the write up this weekend - I should have some time btwn now & super bowl - it's actually replacing head/timing chain/etc - mini top end rebuild.

If you feel you have the mechanical ability, can get some help from a friend (some of these parts are easier w/ 2 ppl), and are due for some major maintenance anyway, might as well do the timing chain (and maybe oil/water pumps if you are planning major modding).

It's essentially following the FSM w/ slightly more detail and a lil more pictures.
