Bondo? fiber glass? Is there possibly any way i can do it without having to paint my whole trunk? Any ideas are much appreciated thanks alot heres a pic so you have an idea

i guess it depends on how big the holes are, if they are too big u will need to weld in metal then bondo and paint. I dont think there is anyway youre gonna get around not painting it tho. (if you want it to look perfect)

IMHO id leave it be, Trunk rack TYTENESSS!!!!!

I replaced a rusted trunk lid on my first 240sx for super cheap - got one from a wrecker and swapped the key cylinder over. It would be the quickest easiest solution for you.

im with him, unless you can find a trunk from another car in the same color, id just stick with what you have. I actually think the trunk rack doesnt look bad, and like you said ive never ever seen one before either. KEEP IT!!!

keep it dude. there is nothin sicker than grabbin the rail and slidin around off the back in the rain...

and omg brain storm. imagine hittin up ur favorite parking lot in the rain, and havin people skitch off the back grabbin the rail!

just dont go to fast and especially dont drift ur back end into anything or else youll have some dead people on ur hands lol

but yea my friend acclaim has that rach thing on the back and its great to grab onto in the rain

This is a quick fix but you will need to repaint your deck lid afterwards, I've done this process on a hatch, and a coupe deck lid what you will need is a ball peen hammer (hammer with a round end), some kitty hair (really fibrous fiberglass), resin, and hardener of course, and some bondo. Take the rack off of the deck lid and place the ball peen hammer (round side into the hole) then take another hammer and hit the flat end of the ball peen to make a SMALL dent inside of the hole. If you hit to hard you will make creases, if you don't hit hard enough your dent will be to small to fill in smooth. When you have hammered all the holes to about 3/4 or 3/8 of an inch in depth fiberglass all of the holes in making sure not to overfill them. Once everything is fiberglassed and dried. Bondo, and sand tell smooth. Pick up some spray paint and repaint the smooth, hole less deck lid maybe a couple wet sands and buffs and your done. (I would recommend doing this it builds skill and your car is white its extremely easy to match spray paint too.)

But, if you get lazy sometimes like I do, just pick up another deck lid for 30-40 bucks.

i say get a new lid. for all the work and time you need to put in, a new lid would me much faster and easier. if you can find the same coclor nice, but if you need to paint it and dont know how to paint this is great for some practice. get any color lid and sand it down with about 400 grit then paint with primer can any color dosnt matter. make sure its nice and thick ill say use about 2 cans evenly spreaded. any drips no worrys use 650 grit after primer then spray with another can of primer then use 800 grit. now ready for paint color coat get a can that matches well and spray. before painting make sure the primer surface is real smooth and cleaned before applying. go half speed not to slow but not to fast and about 5-6 inches away.make sure you appy paint a inch into the first coat and repeat so u dont get that spray can look on your lid. might use more paint but looks much better. if you have no faith in your painting abillity then primer then take it to a paint shop they will take it from there and it would be way cheaper then them doing the whole job. good luck, let me see what you do to it. P.S. honestly i really like the trunk lid look very unique and looks clean. just dont use it and scratch it up if you keep it.

i just did the same thing to my car except i took the spoiler off and fillied in like 10 holes. you have to weld little pieces of sheet metal in the big wholes but if they are small you can fill them in . be careful tho because if you get the metal to hott it will burn wholes through and warp the sheet metal. the easiest way to do it is to buy another trunk but whatver is easier for you.

keep that **** on there!!! that's awesome!!!!!

if you do yank it just cover the holes with small squares of white tape.

trust me after the "i just got my coupe and i want it to be ideal" wears off you'll wish you still had the trunk rack
