Hello there,

I have a friend here that just bought a 89 240 sx in europe and is having the car shipped here, and we're going to build the car when it gets there. Instead of rebuilding the engine we were thinking about swaping it to a KA24DE built engine, wich looks like the cheapest alternative for me . Is the swap hard or is it easy to do ? I see a lot of guys swaping from KA to CA , and I know i might sound weird but we're looking at doing it the other way around. As a side business I do import a few performance parts in my country , and I have some nice relationship with good suppliers in the US and It looks like it'll be cheaper for us to go the KA way.

The engine will be turbocharged later , with a GT30 series turbo , and we're aiming at 400-450ish rwhp on the setup.

The things i'm a bit concerned about are engine mounts compatibility, transmission compatibility & wiring modifications needed ? Can someone shed some light on this for me please ?

Thanks in advance,

Gauthier

It would just be the opposite of a regular CA swap. Should be pretty straightforward.
