on a 89 240 does it have posi traction or just limited slip or somthing

posi trac is a gm trademark for their version of an lsd rear. that 89 240 only has a vlsd if its equipped with abs and hicas. hicas is 4 wheel steering. im not positive but i think the hicas models say it on the side and i think it must be an se. sorry if thats in accurate i own an s14. the other ways to tell are look for an orange sticker on the diff pumpkin. most 89s do not have nissans vlsd.

To my knowledge the bit about the abs is incorrect. i have an 89 with vlsd and no abs. The orange sticker is the easiest way to tell. You could also jack up the back of the car and spin a tire with your hand if they both move the same direction you have a lsd. Or my perfered meathod, dump the clutch, 2 marks = LSD ; ) .

no i think you must have abs. again im not possitive when it comes to 13s

i dont have abs, trust me, i just spent 500 bucks redoing all the pads and rotors. And yes, its a little orange oval sticker with the letters VLSD on it. However if you dont see the sticker it could be covered in dirt or even have fallen off for some odd reason (but probably not).
