is the pcv valve on a stock ka24e 1989 5 speed above the alternator and below the manifold? where its imposibe to get to without removing the alternator from underneth. i know if this was bad id be burning oil which i am and i doubt it has been replaced in a really really long time. i have a chilton manual but you know how those are
ya, the big metal box that says eccs, a hose going out of a metal screw in the middle. the metal "screw" is the valve. all you need is a wrench and some pliers.
when you get it out, spray alot of carb cleaner into it to clean out the deposits and blow into it both ways, it should only flow one way if im not mistaken.
yea i replaced it. it was like 2.50 the old one seemed ok but it was the original cus the little nissan symbol was on it and my cars got like 150000 miles so i figured it couldnt hurt. and thats not why im burning oil anyways. my number 3 cylender has really bad compression i did a compression test and the rings are shot cus i put a little oil down there and it got better but it still runs smoothly and has plenty of power so im not going to do anything about it
