Ok I am new to the Nissan scene. Just traded a guy my Honda CBR F4 for a '89 240sx coupe. The car has 152k miles and is an automatic. Drove it around for 3 days and the 3rd day it would die each time I came to a stop. It would start back up but then the engine started to have alot of shake in it. I just changed out the spark plugs, which looked burnt really bad. After that the car ran great........ for 20 minutes LOL. Then started acting the same again. While the car was runnin again for the 20 mins, it was letting out alot of smoke, black smoke. Can anyone please help me?

Thanks, Mike

oxygen sensor, on your exhaust pipe right out of the engine, driver side. replace it.Why did you trade a nice 2000 car for a old 240?

Cool I will try that. Well I traded my motorcycle, crotch rocket, for the car. Not to mention he gave me a good lump of money. If I end up liking the s13 I will drop in the sr20det and make it a 5 speed.

Someone had also told me I need to possibly see if my 240 has a bad puel pump or bad injectors. I know the car has been sittin around for probably 4 months or so. Would be much cooler if it was only a bad oxygen sensor though.

Thanks

Check the vacuum hose going to the brake booster from the back of the throttle body, mine had a slight slit in it and would kind of do the same thing when I had my KA.
