dunno if pointing to other sites is frowned upon, but since it's vehicle specific i don't see why...

NissanEXA.com (the Pulsar NX is the EXA everywhere else in the world)... you have a KN13 chassis pulsar.

I'm running an 87 KN13 Pulsar NX SE (CA16DE stock) with a CA18DET and love it!

Hey Mazi,

Is the ca16de engine harness the same as the ca18de harness?

The reason I'm asking is a need to get a sunny harness from europe for my sentra ca18det, was wondering if i can convert the ca16 harness just like I did a ca18de harness.

not quite the same... the CA16 didn't have a tps (only the throttle full/idle switch) and had the dropping resistors. i'm sure there's a few more tiny differences but i'm not sure what they are...

I just left the CA16 harness and swapped over the ECU plug. I used the solenoid wires for EGR and AIV to wire in the TPS...

not sending him away... just pointing him to a source of information :P

trust me, i'm a huge fan of the KN13... traveled from Huntsville AL to Griffin GA to get mine... swapped a CA16DE -> CA18DET... i wouldn't give up this car for anything!

i actually had to refrain from dumping all my KN13 knowledge on him in one post...

I bought a KN13 last year....then I raped it for parts. Got the trans, engine mounts, sways, brakes, wiring harness - all for a sentra!

I then toyed with it with my escavator before selling it for $200 for scrap.

bah, ca18de... what with it's high imp injectors and hydro clutch... not only do you have to mess with your harness even more than i had to, you have a complicated *** system for what should be *press pedal* = *pull throwout bearin*...

Heh, you should try wiring the two seperate switches on a pulsar for the headlights and signals into the one single switch that does both on a sentra.

Oh and did I forget to mention that pulsar and sentras are opposite on the polarity. In other words one supplies a constant 12v and adds a ground to make a switch work, while the other has a constant ground and supplies 12v. What a headache...

So I had to add four 10ohm resistors? took a few minutes and an order from radio shack online. Everything else linked up 100% with my ca18det and the ca18de.

I like my super smooth hydro clutch No hard in the cold, soft in the summer crap from my old ga16e pulsars.

i don't have any issues with the clutch... sadly, it looks like if i go to a CA18 transmission i'll have to swap over to hydro :P

Yeah, the ca16 clutch is smaller and wont hold boost to save it's life!actually the ca16 transmission is smaller/weaker too i think. the exaboard guys once mentioned that.

yeah, dee's mentioned it on here too. if the CA16 clutch can't hold boost, then when i upgrade the clutch i'll be in for a big suprise... i'm using an OE (relatively new-ish) clutch with mine, and it flys :P

That means it is in O2 reading mode i believe.... make sure your red led works. while driving they should alternate when ur in stoich and go one or the other when u hit the gas.

I can't recall which color meant what... one means lean and one means rich if they go that way.

Do you know how to check for codes??key on, engine off; turn the screw to the right and wait for it to blink 5 times in a row then turn it back to the left. it should blink the green and red 5 times each in succession.

If I got a color wrong or a right or left wrong soemone will correct me... I havent puleld my codes in over a year...

Thanks for the lead. Since I have corrected the computer, the error that is indicated is the Speed Sensor. I can't locate the sensor. Is it in the cabling or behind the dash cluster?Any help is appreciated at this point.I really need to get the studder out of my driving.

Verify what engine the car has. If it's a 1988 with a 1.6, don't bother. If it's a 1988 with a 1.8, then buy it. Here's the deal:

1987 Pulsar SE: CA16DE, 1.6, 120ish hp1987 Pulsar NX: GA16, 1.6, 5ish hp1988 Pulsar SE: CA18DE, 1.8, 135ish hp1988 Pulsar NX, GA16, 5ish hp

The "5ish hp" is an exaggeration, but that engine has very little power.

Close, but this is what it should be:

87 SE: CA16DE, 118hp (I think... crank, not wheels)87 XE: E16i, 70hp (crank)88 SE: CA18DE, 135ish hp (crank)88 XE: E16i89 SE: CA18DE90 (only 1 trim available): GA16i 71ish hp (crank)
