hi my name is karen and I have an 88 pathy that has died.I was driving home one evening after work I made two stop and started fine and then while driving down the road it died and will not start back up.I have changed the coil,coil wire the battery termanals and the coil module.I am at my wits end can anyone help me out..

Does it turn over at all? If it does but won't crank try the alternator. If it doesn't do anything it might be the starter. Both are pretty simple fixes.

No it's not sweet, did you not read? It won't start!

Anyway, has anyone checked the alt.? Maybe the battery, but since you are saying that it does turn over it's probably not the battery or the batt. terminals. The alternator shouldn't be a big deal, cheap part (new) & pretty cheap (if you pay someone to do it) or easy to install (if you decide to do it yourself). Hope that helps.

ok that problem was fixed it was the computer it went out now 3 weeks later i am having another problem it will start but then die I went about 5 miles this morning and it died going down the road again. This time it will start for about 2 or 3 min. then die what is up with that!!!!

Hello Karen

Same happened to my Pathy 1990 recently she suddenly Die while driving. In my case there was the photo diode in the distributor case next to the sensor inside as the piece is around 200. dll cost , I had to find it in a yunk yard for 30 dll the process to change it is very simple but first you have to be sure in mark the position of the distributor so the engine won't go out of time.

As I see as long all you have changed is the only piece left to the problem you describeHere is the picture of the part
