Looking for a 88-89 300zx VG30DET turbo. I am wanting to put it on my RB20DET. If any one has one that they want to sell let me know. Thanks,

Now if THAT isn't a HUGE step backwards, I don't know what is. You didn't just step off the curb, you fell down the steps of a Myan temple.

the car you want (z31 w/a vg30det) is a limited run called 300zr, I don't think they were released in the US. Anyways, what you meant to say was a z31 with a vg30et, which is like someone implied, superior to the rb20det, so that's why it's a step backward. Look for an na, which would be much cheaper.

Nope. There is NO Z31 with a VG30DET from the factory. The 300ZR was a normally aspirated VG30DE. But it was only available for the last year or two of the Z31 and never available in North America.

Only thing lower than the RB20DET would be the extremely rare VG20ET. Or a VG30E.

VG30E = 160 ps @ 5200 rpmsVG20ET = 170 ps @ 6000 rpmsRB20DET = 180 ps @ 6400 rpmsVG30DE = 190 ps @ 6000 rpmsVG30ET = 195 ps @ 5200 rpms

These are stock numbers. Obviously everything changes once you start going modified. But if you thought parts were hard to find for the VG, imagine trying to find parts for a motor never exported to the United States.

the only reason I would buy a turbo car for the motor transpant would be to keep the '88 SS body style. But since u said 87 or 88, I'll assume you're not looking for the SS, so I would advise purchasing a N/A as well for the swap.

You're better off with the turbo body.a) turbos made after April 87 have LSD.b) turbos have the larger strut tubes in the front that the illuminas fit into.c) cost isn't any different between turbo and na.

Hate to bring up and old thread, but I think he was looking for the Turbo, not a whole car.
