Have an '87 with a manual transmission.Starter is new and battery is good.

Periodic (becoming more "regular") problems with starting. If I depress & partially release the clutch pedal, sometimes several times, that will usually work, making me think that it's either clutch adjustment or maybe a sensor switch issue. There's an audible clicking, seems to be from the right side of the car, during the failed attempts to start.

Is there a switch related to the clutch, or is the link from clutch to starter totally manual? Could it be a fuse or fusible link? I haven't checked those.

I appreciate any help/advice.
