should be screws along hte panel.... look around should be near the door handle, from there you gotta panel pop it off as its held on by clips. go slowly if you find its not budging stop and locate the screw holding it.

IIRC, there are a couple of screws... behind the flip out ashtray and maybe beside the rear seat... near the floor. The rest of the panel is held in place with spring clips... simply pry.

I miss my '87.... it was a gas guzzler, but fun while I had it.

if it's the 2door, then you have to remove the side panels. they are held in with nylon pop posts(not sure what they are called.

basically you need with a large flathead screwdriver, slowely pop panel off. Here is the problem, some, if not all of the nylon buttons will break, I would hit the auto store up and get some replacements(only a few dollars for a dozen or so).

It's not difficult, just a bit time consuming

'86.5??? The first PFs were '87 models and came out about about October '86, which would be '87 model year.
I bought my '87 12/31/1986.

I had serial #000749... one of the very early ones off the assembly line.

Ah, I think I know where the confusion is... The Hardbody/truck was available as an '86.5 model year. My mistake.

Wow, I sold my '87 pathy 10 years ago already. Boy does time fly...
