87 pathfinder dash lights

I got a 87 pathfinder and my instrument panel lights won't go on. Ive checked the fuse and its good....ive put all new lights in and ive checked the power to it and its all good. Im thinking its the ground but i really havent found time to completely check it out. wheres the ground for the instrument panel lights.....?

edit: okay, nevermind. . no WD21 on there -- anyone have a WD21 FSM?

Dumb question, but doesn't hurt to ask - is the dashboard light switch turned on? Very often, when I am cleaning my dashboard, i'll accidentally run my rag over that switch and turn off all the instrument lights. Then it trips me out later when it gets dark and my interior remains dark. Basically that switch that controls how bright the instrument lights are, it is capable of turning them completely off.

i played with the switch, its a dimmer, and its all plugged in and good...i got an electrician across the street from me and he says i need to find the ground, he just hasnt had time at all to help...but thanks

My insturment panel shuts off when I turn my highbeams on know anything about that? its an 88 pathy v6
