87 Maxima 2.0 liter 4, spark problem

Today a beautiful 87 Maxima, grandma owned came into the shop with a serious issue. Spark is not getting to the exhaust bank of spark plugs. Yes this is a 4 cyl with eight plugs. We checked the coils and replaced them, but it didn't fix the problem. Is there some sort of module in the distributor that could cause this? or does it seem like a ground issue. The car is immaculate!! I can't find any of the normal issues and I can't use a consult either. Any suggestions would be appreciated!
