If you are thinking of getting a lift package you should check into these sources.

http://www.PURENISSAN.COM (AKA: Calmini)

http://www.4x4parts.com (AKA: Automotive Customizers)

http://www.gorancho.com (Monroe Tenneco: Makers of Dynomax mufflers, Rancho shocks, Monroe shocks and so much more!)

All 3 companies have lift kits for sale that range from 2.5 to 3" of lift. I have the Rancho Kit in my 2000 Xterra and your HB suspension is very similar to that of my Xterra. I have been very happy with the lift package but it was also upgraded with their RS9000X adjustable series shock and incab controls. This allows me to make the suspension as stiff or as soft as required with a push of a button.

If you find your suspension is stiff it's probably because the leafs are worn out, torsion bars need adjustment and/or the shocks are weak. No-one offers replacement leafs for the Hardbody with these IFS lift kits, but they do offer add-a-leafs that can sometimes allow you to regain some of the suspension life in your stock leafs. BDS Suspensions does make leafs for the Frontier but I don't know if they have a lsiting for the D21 Hardbody. Get your Google out and do some searching!

Actually, the BDS leaves were made for the hardbody. They just happen to work on a Frontier.

I have a set and they're a nice upgrade, however, I'm replacing them with custom Alcan spring packs as soon as the new springs arrive because the BDS's don't provide adequate lift out back for my SAS and I'm having to use very long shackles to compensate. With your IFS lift, though, they'd be ideal.

As Snuffaluffugus...er...BigBird says, the sites he listed do offer aftemarket lifts for your truck. Consider also a steering upgrade, as the stock centerlink is typically short lived once you start cranking up the IFS. Hoohaa centerlinks (an ad can be found for him over on my site, http://www.nissan4wheelers.com), or Calmini both offer solutions for your truck.

Also, to add clarity on Big Bird's point on shocks...

The Ranchos don't necessarily make your suspension stiffer or more compliant. The shocks are adjustable to set the amount of dampening they provide, but it's your springs that determine how stiff/soft a suspension is.
