Hello all, this is my first post however, I have lurked around for a bit. I have a 1987 300zx NA 5spd. I have the car still at my parent's home and visit it about every 2 weeks. I recently went to drive it and put my foot to where the clutch pedal would be and it was already to the floor. I reached down to pull it back up and it snapped back up so I know the spring mechanism is still intact. The car will start fine however, it will not go into any gear. I have a Haynes manual but its packed up somewhere from moving, so what steps do you all think I should do to diagnose the problem. I am really lost on this one guys, is it common for the hydraulic system to have issues from just sitting? Thanks all.

your slave or master died, it's generally a good idea to replace them as a pair, they don't last forever, fist thing I'd do is check the hydraulic fluid, assuming it's good, your master is to blame, if the fluid is low the problem could be with the slave ro master or a line between

Thanks for the quick reply, looks like I will have something to work on this spring.

And when you replace them, bypass the damper...
