87 300zx n/a is hard to starts then cuts out

i got this 87 n/a and it takes like 6 cranks to start then it will run fine but when you press on the gas it will die then i will be able to drive it for about 2 blocks then it will just die again. then 6 more cranks starts and few more blocks it dies. any ideas? i will mention the injector recall hasnt been done and i see that atleast one leaks.

Odds are, you need a new mass airflow sensor. If that doesn't fix it, go for the crank angle sensor. Also, get that recall done before it's too late! (it may already be too late, but give it a shot).

yeah number one handle the recall, then take a good look at the problem

i called nissan and they will do the recall. as far as mas i can still rev above 2k which i thought you cant if the mas is bad? where is the crank angle sensor?

The MAF will cause the engine to cut out above 2k, As far as I know. The crank angle sensor is located beneath the cap/rotor and dust cover. Have you checked the computer for codes? If you need the procedures, I'll photocopy them from the manual.

ok so it still does the same thing but it will miss and backfire like crazy and there like a radiling in my distibuter

Yikes. Sounds like one of three things;

1) Crank angle sensor2) Distributor (worn bearings/gear)3) damaged cap and/or rotor
