So I just traded for a Turbo 87 300ZX. Car runs fine except for one problem. I drove the car home (about 60 miles) and near home it kept dying. It is also running a lil rich (not sure if that could cause problem? I'm not a gear head). It starts right back up just fine and only seems to die when coming to a stop with clutch depressed. But it'll start right back up.

Ideas? Thoughts?

Maybe Mass Air flow?

Congrats on the Z!

the off throttle dieing problem usually has to do with the iacv, it gets dirt and sticks and cn't move quicky enough to let ai in when the throttle slams shut, take it off and clean it with carb cleaner as best you can and see if the problem improves

running richwel stock they run kinda rich and any number of issues can make this worse or simply more noticible, first thing I'd do is check the ecu for codes

So update. Code read Cylinder head temp sensor, so I replaced and re wired it (they were corroded). Still didnt work, car would fire up then die immediately. Seen that the fuel pressure regulator was shot, and leaking. Just replaced it and still just turns over idles for a second and not any longer then dies.

Ideas? No other codes were given.

Sorry to bump, but any updates? I am having the same issue, same vehicle as yours, only difference is mines is automatic. Cranks, runs for a second, shuts off instantly. Only code in ECU is for CHTS. I have put a 2.5 kohm resistor to bypass the sensor to see if that was the cause, but still the same problem.

Is the code still present? If the code is still present either your fix didn't work, the problem is in the wiring or the ecu.
