86 Z31 Rev Limiter Removal? (NA_

So, I've been working on my Z a bit, trying to make it quicker, and I've found the annoying rev limiter in 5th gear that cuts me out at 4k RPM. This is extremely frustrating, and I'd like to remove it. However, All I have heard of are $200-$350 shady looking kits, and people suggesting things in such terrible English that I can't even understand what they're trying to say.

So, I have 2 questions:

1: Is there a way to modify the current chip in my Z31 to disable the 5th gear rev limiter? I'd prefer this, as I am on a bit of a limited budget and I'd prefer to put my money into other parts. By this I mean is there a way to program or physically change something to make it go away?

Or, if that's not the case

2: What's a legitimate way to get rid of the rev limit?

Cheapest way would be to wire in a toggle switch wired to the speed sensor.

Just hit the switch when you *cough*are at the track and not on the streets*cough*. The speedometer will go down to 0 and the odometer will stop rolling as well, until you flip back on.

The speed control is set at I think 125 mph? Has nothing to do with RPM, If you are hitting the speed limiter the aforementioned speed sensor disconnect will do the trick but if you have digital dash it will disable your speedo and odo as well. If however you are hitting this speed limiter at 4k rpm which I'm pretty sure puts you south of 100 mph you might have a problem with your maf or tps or something else.

NAs do NOT have a speed limiter.

Removing the rev limiter (which is 6500 rpms) is STUPID with a capital f***.

AZ is right, I have had mine up to 135 (NA 84) going down hill one day long ago. There is no reason to remove the rev limiter but remember that was a feature of some of the aftermarket ECU chips.
