Today while rewiring in the tail-lights, I made the radical decision of removing my rear spoiler, ( I removed the rear wiper when I purchased it, it was bent and a corner would dig into the glass...oh yeah my rear hatch glass is all scarred up), with the spoiler came out the brake light in the spoiler. So I decided to just put them in the Euro tail light spots. *Note there is a small tab on the lamp housing that has to be cut off for a direct fit, and some minor wire lengthening but your still in the harness and using the factory connectors. Sorry no pics yet.You will have about six holes to cover not counting the big hole where the brake light assembly was. I covered mine with duct tape till I can get discs welded in and the hatch refurbished and painted. On the business sideI have from a 1986 Z31, a rear spoiler, rear wiper motor, and rear defroster harness section with plugs and resistors, and spoiler brake light in good condition for sale...cheap. I just don't want them getting damaged or trashed when someone might need'em for their restore or something. And I would finally like to add the car looks leaner and more contour without the factory spoiler, or I think so.

So what did you do about the holes and the bumps in the hatch?

why not swap on the 87-89 n/a hatch? you move the third brake light up high and have the smooth spoiler-less look your after?

Easier to get an 84-85 NA hatch I would think.

Duct tape for now.... I have few rubber plugs I'm going to cut down till I get hatch to body shop. If I could find a NA hatch( Which my Z is an NA)within a few hundred miles of me. I know of only one other Z31 in town, and the next closest Is about 150 miles away. I'm demostic locked here!

I call BS, I am only about 115 miles form you ;Pand I know I might be surrounded by domestic's but the local boneyards usually have a few Z31's on hand

what was wrong with your hatch? yoou just wanted the spoler off? I might have a good 87 hatch but it's a turbo so it has the spoiler but no low mounted brakelight

There is probably some within a 100 miles, but nothing local. i'm having the holes welded closed next weekend... if I can count on the guy. After that it'll be the way I want it. i want the Euros lit up, and i don't like the spoiler.
