Hi:
I have a carbureted '86 720 pickup with a 2.4L Z24 engine. is there anything notorious about this carburetor or fuel system? It starts and runs but dies on acceleration then it won't start till it cools. If I drive it easy, it will make it but if I have to go up hill, it won't. The filter is ok. I used carb cleaner but only idled it for an hour on a full tank so I don't think much went through.

thanks for any suggestion

I have had similar problems with mine now and then. There is a fuel pump relay behind the glove box that you could look at, see if it's grimy or otherwise not making proper contact.
Resoldering the contacts on that did solve my problem once.

If that looks ok, you can try also disconnecting the fuel lines from the tank (just past the fuel pump) and under the carburetor, (easier to get to from the right side front wheel), and blow some air through them. They can get really clogged up. I did that and it also helped my case.
