Hi guys new member here but I've been lurking around for years.

So here's my problem I inherented I 1986.5 nissan d21 with a napz 2.4i motor I drove it to my house about 2 years ago no problem but it was the fourth car at my house so it got put to the side. I started it every few weeks for the first year till a fusable link burnt out. so I let it sit for about a year.
so last week I was rearended in my 720 and totaled it out and I decided to get this old thing going instead of buying a new truck
so first I tracked down all the electrical problems I could find and got power back to the dash.once I had power it would start and run really rough for 10 seconds maybe.
so I tested the fuel system it has 36 pounds of pressure so that looks to be in good shape but I replaced the fuel filter anyways.
I changed all vacumm lines
I hooked up a nooid light and I'm getting signal to the injectors
replaced spark plugs
checked timing everything's good

Anybody have any ideas?
my next plan is to pull out the injectors and soak them incase there clogged

Since you let it sit for so long, I'm guessing that maybe a lot of Condensation occurred in the Gas Tank, which probably has some water in the Gas Tank.

Like you suspect,, the injector's may also have some fuel residue in them as well.

If it were mine, I would drain the gas tank, if it can be done, without too much trouble. Then I would pour a container of "Chevron Techron Fuel Injector Cleaner & Water Remover" in the Tank,, and Fill with Fresh Gas. With Fresh Gas, the Engine may stay running enough to let the Injector Cleaner do it's job. Maybe run the engine a little bit faster than Idle speed for about 15 minet's or so, and see if the engine will smooth out. If so,, then drive it slowly to let some fuel flow through the injector's. Hopefully that will get it. If not,, I'm still thinking Water,, and you may need to drain the fuel line, so that good gas can get to the injector's.

Good Luck,

Drained the tank there was a whole lot more gas in this thing then I thought.
I drained the tank using the fuel pump I disconnect the line just before fuel filter and added my own line long enough to go over the side into another gas can i drained the tank till it stoped pushing gas out added the injector cleaner brubble suggested and 5 gallons of fresh gas I pulled out another 1/2 -3/4 of a gallon to be sure anything stuck in the lines came out.
started the truck seamed to start a little smother but still die in about the same amount of time 5-10 seconds tryed about a dozen time with no improvement gonna let it sit for a hour or 2 then try again.

Thanks guys

Pulled the injectors big thing of crap stuck to the inlet hole on the driver side injector gonna soak them over night see if that cleared up the problem if not I guess I'm replacing them.
anybody know if these injetors are rebuildable?

The injectors can be cleaned and tested. I would also suggest replacing the fuel filter. Might also check under the dist cap for signs of moisture. Possible the fuel pump took a dump,or isn't getting power. Check the fuel line, I left my vehicle sit for a period of time, and a squirrel chewed a hole in the fuel line. Pull the fuel filter, and if it is dry, this could indicate the fuel pump is not delivering fuel.

Yep, I agree.

The Fuel pump may be working on the Starting Circuit,, but not after the engine begin's running on it's own.

Remember you had that circuit switch code:

I get 36 pounds of pressure from the fuel pump on the staring circuit and when I start the car the fuel pump kicks back on pumps a constant 36 pounds and stays on another 1-2 seconds after the motor dies I don't really think that's the problem BUT il test it again today to be sure

Also I replaced the filter it fills up no problem

I appreciate all your guys input

Alright guys I so got these injectors cleaned I'm definitely getting fuel into the throttle body but now I can't get it to start at all.
so I decided I visally che k the spark I pulled the fuel pump relay so I wouldn't pump the cylinders full of fuel while I checked. When I pulled plug 1 and checked the spark the truck started (I know I should have pulled the coil) I killed it as quick as I could since one cylinder was open I put the plug back in and relay to see if I could get it to start again but no luck so I pulled the puel pump relay back out and the truck started up for 30 seconds then It died out. I got out of the truck and there's a 6 foot Long streak of gasoline from the tail pipe....

So, with the relay out, it starts, but relay in it doesn't? Swap that thing for a good one and see what happens?

Think i might have tracked the problem down I have low compression in 2 cylinders. #1 and #4 no change when I add oil to the cylinder so I'm thinking valves are off

Gonna pull the valve cover tomorrow after work

Well, that's a problem. Do read up a manual for the valve specs.

Pull the plugs and pour some marvel mystery oil in the cylinders. Let it sit for a few days. The product works miracles. Possible that the rings are stuck.
