Car runs great for how old it is! :rotfl

But yesterday i was backing into my driveway (not at a slope) And it caused a transmission leak??? And then it was gone! (well i dont think its gone, leaks just dont disappear). Its coming from the under carriage. Maybe someone could help? :bs:

Thanks guys

Manual trans or auto? Are you sure it was the trans and not the diff?

Manual five speed. The color of the fluid had a reddish tint.

The manual trans actually uses the same non red gear oil as the diff, however the power steering uses dextron automatic trans fluid which is red in color. Most power steering leaks on these cars come form the rack itself and are due to boneheads using regular power steering fluid which is too thin and can actually make a leak worse. Could also be a leaking power steering fluid line, the return hose fomr the resivior to the pump tends to get soft with age, otherwise the copper washers at the pump housing on the pressure hoses tend to seep a bit with age, the fittings at the rack don't tend to be a problem short of the rack itself leaking. purging the power steering fluid and refilling with correct atf perhaps a bit of trans stop leak tends to stop the leaks at the rack itself.

Thank you for your help! It was the lose steering fluid, thank God it wasn't anything serious. Now my last problem that is stumping me. My head lights will not turn off, and before I go buy some exspensive replacement equipment. I would like a suggestion. Anybody have or has had this problem, might be able to point me in the rightdirection? Thank you

Headlight switch stalk, it's a pretty common point of failure, although normally they won't come on but still likely the same issue.
