86 300zx radio

just bought a 86 300zx and the only thing that doesn't work is the radio. it isn't the fuse... I disconnected the audio system and the temp control no longer work. I put a voltage meter on the + and - wire and have no power but the temp control works once the circuit is complete on the audio wire harness. thanks

Yes it is the digital car.

Without looking up the diagram I'd guess it's grounding through the radio chassis, isolate which wire is ground and run it direct to ground.
