86 300z turbo with t-tops

i met a guy that is picking two of them up for 600$! a 85 turbo 300z and a 86 turbo 300z. he is keeping the 85 for him self. he said the 86 will start but it wont stay running. i want to fix the motor or swap a newer one in and sell it. do you think this would be a good buy?

well hard to say but buying a pair of cars for $600 kinda hard to go wrong, really need more detail to have any clue as to why it won't run, could be anything at this point

well if it need a new motor or trany to get it running do you think i could still make money from saleing it

that depends on the car, I've seen running Z31's going anywhere doem $400 to $10k, milage and condition and huge factors, as for replacing the engine, any vg would swap in and offer a slightly higher compression ratio which would hangdle stock boost levels just fine
