I was going to run the silvia 370cc but recently got four 850cc injectors from the fd3s rx7 for really cheap. Im going to run up to 14lbs of boost max I know this is alot of fuel and just wanted to get some opions before i order the metal clips to make these work. Was wondering also if anyone has ever ran these with an apexi safc 2.

no one could run these with an afc2. the afc can handle injectors 50% bigger than stock. on the ka stock injectors are 270cc. so the biggest you should be able to tune percectly would be 540cc. 850cc will need a standalone or possible a jwt retune with they have maps for those. arent primary rx7 injectors 550cc? get a set of those instead and use a afc. they will be good for 14psi about

JWT won't tune for 850's. I called a while ago and had a lengthy discussion with one of their techs. If you want 850's and JWT then you need to pay for a few hours dyno time and get your *** to JWT. You are closer to secret services in florida, and they offer a pretty similar ecu to JWT, might be a more feasible option. Emanage can't handle 850's either, I called and had a lengthy discussion with their techs too.And an AFC won't be able to do it period.

Not to mention the duty cylce for 850cc injectors would be at like 65% at 15 psi.

Yeah. If you need a whole lot of fuel JWT has just got their 72 lb msd program up and running, and you can get those pretty cheaply on ebay if you get the delphi brand. But for what you are talking about you probably won't need those huge injectors.

Why can't I log in and stay logged in?Anyway, if you did have a JWT program (50# injectors) you could run an AFC/Emanage with those injectors.-Jeff

the E manage tech said that although you could probably use a piggyback to "control" those injectors, they are so large that once you trim them down for low HP use they will just be closed all the time and suck at low rpm. He said if you want injectors that large you either need a ROM tuned for them (JWT/secret services) or a standalone.

Where did you find the clips you need? I couldn't find them anywhere, I was going to use RX-7 550's but I know you need those little spacers. I assume that's what you meant.

How much are they also?

If the injectors are so large that it can't provide fuel correctly at idle, than chances are ROM tuning isn't going to be any better. The problem is in the injector, not the ECU or piggy back. When the minimum injector pulsewidth provides too much fuel and you need more fuel for your plans, secondary injectors are probably the better solution. Regardless of it's through a piggy back, stand-alone, or some kind of ROM tune variation.

The only thing I don't like about sub-injectors are that they are further upstream. You can mount them on the runners, but it's still not as good as injecting directly into the ports. It eats a little more fuel. But if your system necessitates sub injectors because the primaries are too large, then I doubt you care much about fuel anyways. :)

the tech said you could just raise the idle rpm to 1200 or so and he thought it would prolly work. Everytime I read this post I remember more of my conversations...they were a while ago.

D Speed sells the collars and o rings to make the 550s or 850s work on the sr20det so obviously they will work on the ka. The collar kits are like 25.00 for the 550s and 23.00 for the 850s the price is in yen so you would have to convert it to get the exact figure but 25 and 23 should be really close by my calculations. Hope this helps COW

nevermind, I can't read

Do you know if Dspeed will ship to the US? Or would I have to find someone to import them? Hmm.

takakaira prolly would do it for you, as would the yahoo japan escrow services. I can't imagine shipping would be too high on them.
