So I had a nice run in with a deer the other day. Tried to avoid the b****** but ended up runnin off the road into a tree. I've got about 8500 saved and was thinking about what to do with the loot. I was thinking of gettin a s14 kouki, but it then dawned on me that I can get a cheap s13 and drop an SR in it. What would you do?

BTW, I've gotten my s13 as salvage. The parts I have are as follows:

S14 seatsN1 dualKYB AGX Eibach SportlinesS13 kouki sideskirts and Rear valanceFidanza flywheel( I know this is irrelevant to sr swap)SPEC stage 2 clutch with 3000miles on it(I know this is irrelevant to sr swap)

Any advice is welcomed

Thanks

depending on what you want S13 or 14. if 13 id say get it and do a SR/CA S14 id say get it if its cheap enough do some suspension work to it and save more for the swap. if you dont do suspension you could save whats left after the car i bought and start saving with that

8500 will only get u half way with a SR swap since u dont even have a car yet, i say spend the time and look for a nice condition car (doesn't matter which) because by the time u are ready for ur SR u would want ur car to still be there, i've been through the delima and the way i see it, and SR in a POS is still a POS, but if u have a nice car already then when the SR comes, u'll be set

I guess an SR swap is more expensive than I thought. Thanks for the responses anyhow.

Wait a second...You could find a decent S14 for $4-5K. That leaves you $3.5-4.5K to get a SR clip and drop it in your self. Dont think you could afford many mods though.

Or you could find a S13 with nice body, suspension, and frame for $3k and pay a shop $5500 to install the SR. You could get a clip and install it yourself WITH mods for the same $5500. Plus you can swapp all your suspension and other parts from your old S13.

How about just get an S14, upgrade the brakes and suspension, then build a turbo kit. Everyone is all like "OMG get a SR!" f*** that, build a turbo kit.
