So I'm trolling the internet, looking for some replacement struts and shocks for my 85 turbo and I've settled on the KYB Gas a just struts for the rear. But I can't seem to find a complete set anywhere. I am completely at a loss on whether they even make a front set or am I just searching for a nonexistent product. Alternatively, I was kind of digging the raked look so would I possibly be able to, instead of buying the complete KYB set, buy a different front strut to acquire that look. trying to stay cheap so anything around 200 is a win. Thanks in advance.

if you like the raked look, get a set of tokiko lowering springs, sounds stupid but they raise the rear

as for kyb's by the set, there are ebay sellers, shocks.com, or one of the z specialty suppliers like MSA (zcarparts.com)

one issue you might be runnign into is if you have the factory adjustables (which neing an 85 turbo I suspect you so) it limits your selection a bit, you can run the shocks/struts intended for the n/a but you'll need the upper mount form an n/a

I've seen a few conversion kits for the turbo adjustable to non adjustable and I'm gonna invest in one. I only need one set correct as I don't believe the 85 was front and rear adjustable right?

not sure what a kti woudl contail, might be adapter bushings, might just be the n/a mounts, keep in mind if you buy shcoks/struts for the turbo they bolt in no additional pieces needed, if you buy shocks/struts for the turbo thats when you need the adapters or n/a mounts

also keep in mind why you don't find a set is likely because the z31 uses struts up frotn and shocks in rear

Not separately, no. But the front shocks and rear shocks were electronically adjustable.

The conversion "kits" are just shocks. There is no real "kit" to it. The shocks themselves are installed normally and you simply don't hook up the electrical connectors as the replacement shocks don't feature any connection points for them.

Well then what is http://www.partsgeek.com/catalog/1985/n ... n_kit.html? I've tried to install them onto the rear shocks as per the instruction and now the shock wont even fit into the upper mount because the big rubber bumper looking thing sits too high on the rod.
