'85 S12 Gazelle windscreen wipers

The wipers after a period of erractic action turning themselves on ramdomly, have stopped. We have a Nissan dealers manual. There is power available, and we have changed the motor and the control switch without success the manual mentions a relay but gives no indication as to where it is, does anybody know?
