Just bought an 85 truck king cab. Had to put a new radiator in it, so while I did that I changed the plugs, wires, and air filter. Then I went to drive the truck and I have a huge acceleration problem. Its like the A/F mixture is screwed up or something. I have the 2L engine. THe tappet cover says nissan Z on it. Truck has just over 100k on it. It ran fine B4 I did this work. Doe anyone have any ideas or suggestions on this topic? Thanks in advance.

I'm copying this to the tech section for you.

Since this happened right after you did the work it can be narrowed down to the plugs and wires. That thing probably isn't firing right. Go back and make sure the plugs are gapped right and the wires aren't faulty.

please only post in one section or another. it just congests the forums when you post in more then one and the moderators end up moving you to the correct section. if you do accidently post in one forum and realize it would be better in another just go back and delete your original post. it helps people during searchs ;)

the Z20,22&24 motors have 2 plugs per cylinder(one intake, one exhaust) so it is easy to mix up the eight plug wires. just look at your distributor cap and it will tell you what goes where.

Check and make sure your coil wires are in the correct positons, the exhaust fires later than the intake. Also check your rotor, on that model they tend to short out thruogh the center to the dist. shaft.
