I recentely purchased a 85 Nissan 720 4x4 pickup. While replacing the u-joints in the front driveshaft I noticed that the front diff support bushing is gone on the driverside. Makes a nice clunking noise.

I'm not 100% sure what the piece is called. Its a round bar (kinda like a crossmember), each end bolted to the frame with bushings, the center of the bar bolts to the front diff near the pinion seal. If I need to get pics I can but hopefully I explained it well enough.

I can't seem to find these bushings anywhere. My only option at this point is to buy the entire bar assembly with the bushings for $180. Nissan says they cant get the bushings separately. Any ideas?

First post BTW!

This help at all? As far as sourcing parts, I dunno what to tell you. Sometimes you can find 'em cheap on ebay. Also, craigslist tends to be a treasure trove of 720s with blown head gaskets, at least around me.

They just seem to call it a "crossmember"

the second pic is exactly what i need, the crossmember. i may just try to find another truck similar to this one because i could use a few other parts as well, including a bed. what year of trucks use the same body panels? mines not in bad shape but if i could i would replace it.

i also thought of fabbing up solid mounts for the crossmember but at the same time i'm kind of hesitant. the factory used rubber for a reason, may be too much stress on the housing.
