85 300zx

my friend is looking into buying a 85 turbo 300zx and it starts but dies shortly after. i was thinking it was a fuel issue. but wondering what you guys think it could be. thanks

kinda of a vague discription, will it run if he rev's it till it's warm? does it sputter and die when he gasses it? will it idle for a miute then die? or is it more like 10 minutes? the more setails you can give the more things we can cross off the list

it doesnt run long enough to warm up and when you start it it runs for like 30seconds then dies

during that 30 seconds, doesnt it sputter and act like its gonna die any second or does it run like normal and then just all the sudden die. did u push on the gas pedal at all during that 30 seconds?

if you rev it will it stay running longer or it's gonna die after 30 secons no matter what you do? if so remove the air filter and give it a few shots of srarting fluid after it's started if it keeps running you got a fuel issue
