'85 300zx head lamps wink!!

The head lamps no longer work. The motor lifting the lamps does. It started with the brights. When I switched to brights, they would wink - one would go off then the other as the first turned back on. Eventually, the brights stoped working compleatly.

Now, the normal headlamps won't turn on. They will still come up but not turn on. The lamp light on my dash comes on when I turn on the switch. Now when I turn on brights, the car still winks but this time it is the motor in the headlights going up and down slightly out of phase. It's pretty entertaining, except that I can't drive at night.

I tried replacing the lamps early on, but that didn't work. I've switched a couple relays around to see if one was not functioning but agian got nothing. Fuses are all good.

Welcome to Nico!I think the dancing headligts is caused when one if higher oor lower? maybe AZ ZBum can offer further assistance on this, but it sounds as if you headlight problem si the combination switch, fairly common problem I think last one I got from nissan was aobut $75, not sure if your model is still abailable but woth checking, if not then off to the boneyard it is!
