That's a nice site Scott. I hadn't seen that one before. I remember some of these S-12s having a Turbo/Intercooled 4-cylinder engine or a V-6 though. That may have been late in the S-12 run, '87-'88?

It's definately an FR platform though.

Thnks for the website but it was a little to vague it just told me the displacement and drivetrain layout. I wanted to know what engines these came with like a ca or something. If someone out there could provide me with more detailed information i'd really appreciate it.

Sorry, just trying to answer the questions you asked.

As for the engine code, the easiest way to find out would be to look on the data tag of the actual car. It is probably riveted to the firewall in the engine bay. You could just give your uncle a call and ask him to look for you.

I don't make a habit of bringing up old topics, but might the motor be a CA20E? I have one in my stanza and it has that POS 8 spark plug design. I know the 200sx had the CA20E. Sorry again about bringing back ancient topics, just wanted to post my $0.02.

I've never heard of the CA20E, but a quick Google shows that the Stanza did indeed have it.

Every 200SX I've ever heard of had the CA18ET, but according to the website linked, the CA20E was also offered.

its either the ca18et, ca20e, or the vg30e, but that came on the later SE models. the fj20 came on the jdm silvia's (this is an s12). its got some similarities and differences with the rest of the s chassis cars.

btw, wrong forum!
