hi, i have a problem with my truck and am wondering if any of you would be able to help? it doesnt burn oil, starts fine and everything is good until i put it in gear and give it gas. the petal feels like its not connected and the engine doesnt get any gas, it bogs out and dies unless i push in the clutch. when its idling and i rev it up it works fine, i only have this problem when im in gear.

sorry, kinda lied on one thing. forgot it doesnt like to start after it dies when im drivin unless i poor gas in the carb. te guy i bought it from said it had a problem with the throttle when he got it.

IS the choke causing it to flood out? Is the pump, mechanical I believe in 1984, working properly?

the choke on the carb is messed up, it wont close. and i thought the pump is what was wrong originally. its the pump outside of the gas tank so i dont know much about them, ill just do some research on them and take it off and check it out. thank you
