Today I noticed my 1984 Datsun King Cab had a significant oil leak. I had her towed to where I had an oil change performed a few days ago and most of it turned out to be a loose oil filter. They also told me, however, that the truck has a slow leak from above the filter - which they said is where the oil pressure sensor is. This would explain why my truck has been guzzling oil lately (have to top up every 600km or so).

What part exactly do I need? Could it be the oil pressure switch or something else?

You need to clean the engine well with degreaser, being careful not to get water on electronic components. Once the area is clean, drive for a week or so and you should be able to see the fresh oil leak and where it's coming from.

If it is the pressure switch, you can remove it and just replace the o-ring for like 50 cents.
