Building a custom race harness for my 720 bagger. 1984 Z style engine 8 plug cap 2 cook setup. Pulled all existing wiring and ecu. Still new to ignition setups. My question is how to get both power to my distributer cap and a pulse from my coil at the correct time. Also what are the five wires coming out of the diatributer for? Color and function If anyone knows. Need help ASAP!!

Big help. Is the ECU needed for the dizzy to work? Or is there a straight wire option? Trying to wire it without an ECU. Is there a dizzy swap option? Trying to crank today!

are you a member of Ratsun. net? they have a ton of people who do all their own wiring.
Ask Datzenmike. Dude knows it all on these trucks.
We try pretty hard on here, to keep the truck forum pretty well trafficked and answer most of what we can, but ratsun is my goto source for datsun info.

Took me a long time to work with things when I had mine... Finally got it running on a bare bones harness... ECU did nothing. Really nothing wrong with it when you have aftermarket carb... stock carb I wonder a little what the fuel delivery looks like, but it's nothing that will kill anything
