84 300zx problem

ok, so i just bought a 84 300zx for 350 bucks and i was told it ran great but need a clutch. when i picked up the car the guy started it for me and it did run really good. all he did was replaced the efi relay cuz when he got the car it didn't run and that fixed it. we trailered it home and put a clutch in it. it drove fine then all of a sudden the next day it wouldn't start. i replace the plugs, wires, cap, and rotor and the car started. so the next morning i was driving to work and the car died on me half way there. i went back on lunch and it started right up. it has done it a couple other times after that and now it will start back up but it will run like total crap. then all of a sudden i'll start it again and it will b perfectly fine,

any help is appreciated, i cant figure this out!

you need to find out if you are loosing spark or fuel when it won't run, could be an ignitor, or distributor, maybe even the fuel pump or one of a number of relays, next time it dies, listed for the fuel pump to come on, and check for spark
