I have installed an APEXi Turbo timer on my 1983 280zxt. It works fine when i turn the car to the off position. The problem is the car stays running after the count down when I turn it past the off position to the lock position in order to remove the key. Any suggestions would be helpful.

Thanks

how long does it stay on after the countdown? If it's always on, i'd say you could have gotten scammed with a fake timer or...I'll have to get back to you on the other options when I have a look at the wiring for the timer lol.

It stay's running indefinatly.

It works properly when the key is in the off position. But to remove the key you have to turn it to the "lock" position and it stay running. We think it is because it lines back up with the "on" position and maybe recomplete's the circuit. Does any one know of another Ignition swicth and tumbler that will fit in the 81-83 280zx's? We don't mind rewiring but I want it to look stock.

It shouldnt be any different in off then it is in lock position. You may just have a bad ingnition switch [ the electric portion on the back.]

I dont know if I could be much more help to you without wiring diagrams for both the aftermarket device you have installed and diagrams of the wiring you have it spliced into.
