82 Datsun 720 King Cab

I am new here and not sure how to ask question. I have an 82 Datsun/nissan 720, I am at a stand still with it as it is still not running. About a year ago it made a POP sound and still ran for about a 1/2 mile then died and is still dead. I have done everything the book has suggested I have pretty much redone the top of the engine. Switch from manual fuel pump to electric. It turned over once, and now acts like it is dead but when put on a charge its at 95% charge. I would be thankful for any ideas.

have u checked the timing i had a car do the same thing and the timing jumped 180 deg
