I cant seem to get any fuel up to the fuel rails. The lines are clear, I've replaced the fuel pump and FPR and checked the relays under the hood. I also removed and cleaned the gas gauge assembly in the tank. It was all covered with crud, rust and gas tar. All the lines are clear- no clogs. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

I can get fuel to the fuel pump- no problem

I also took off the fuel pump and pumped water through it; so I know I got a good pump.

are you getting any fuel past the fuel filter??? check that if not checked. otherwise i mean you could have crossed the lines. but thats very unlikley.

so your not getting fuel past or before the filter then? i would check the fuel pressure. you may be pumping fuel, but maybe not enough pressure. i would also check to make sure your lines are on correct from the pump not crossed. and if you installed a fuel filter make shure its not on backwards, i know these questions seem like common sense and im not trying to insult you or anything. but we need to know this information to help you further.

I appreciate the help and am not insulted by an means. I've done all of these things -to no avail. I cant seem to get any fuel to come out of the fuel pump's discharge pipe. I have fired up the fuel pump with the discharge open at the fuel pump. The odd thing about this is I can blow air up the hose leaning into the fuel pump and it wll run heavily with fuel all day long, but when I connect it to the fuel pump - no discharge fuel. I've tried this with two working fuel pumps - with the same results. I've changed the FPR also.

I was just reading some old forums and came across this.If you are still having problems It's prbobly the ECU. I have personally done all the same diagnostics after the same problems on a '78, an '81 and an '83.I always started with the fuel pump, relay's, injectors and ended up replaceing the ECU as a last resort and every single time it fired on the first try.
