All 8 wires runs like sht. Disc exh wires runs fine?

Rebuilt and stabbed the motor, and everything ready to rock and roll. I'm having issues with the duel spark plugs. If I hook up all eight wires the truck will barely start if at all, when it does it spits and sputters and dies. But, if I take off the exhaust side wires, runs fine. Any ideas?

When you say you remove the exhaust side wires, do you mean completely, or just from the plugs? My first guess would be to tell you than you have the distributor flipped 180 degrees somehow. But without a bit more info on the rebuild, I am not sure.

I completely removed the exhaust side. From what I can tell the distributor con only go in one way. Unless I dropped it TDC on the second stroke?

Also, would it still run on just the four intake wires I'd the dist were 180 out?

It would run... just not well. I'm wondering if there is some other wiring issue that would cause it. It doesn't make any sense that removing the exhaust plus would make it run any differently because the intake side are supposed to fire first, and theoretically, the exhaust side are completely irrelevant.

yerp the exhaust spark is just to aid in burning unspent fuel.

Could it be that the exhaust spark is wrong and firing randomly as shizz?
