Installing my intercooler got held off for a bit. I've found a friend to help do the welding so I just need to order the piping and have it bent. Right now without the intercooler it goes through a pipe to the throttle body that has a line coming off of it and going to the stock recirculation system. What do I do with this line? Should I just plug it at the "T-Junction" where all the lines meet so that I have the pressure lines coming from the idle air valve, FICV and other such?

Or... should I have a port coming off the intercooler piping that goes to this same location before the intercooler. I'm not precisely sure exactly how the stock pressure management system operates and what consequences eliminating this pressure connection would do...

I noticed the setup here that seems to bypass just about everything but does leave the ~1/2" pressure tube I was referencing:

Are all the other recirculation components unnecessary or is this a setup that requires the 300zx ECU? I'm honestly confused when it comes to the intake manifold setup on this car... mine is an 81

a lot fo people wishign to keep the stock idle air circuit and emissions simply retain the first half of the "J" pipe and cut the "U" off the eng and route to their intercooler from there

Thanks! I'll do it this way; hopefully it doesn't cause the temperature to be too much higher than having all the air flow through the intercooler.

?? I was saying to cut the "U" off the "J" pipe and then run the pipes to and from an intercooler, you don't need an intercooler for stock turbo and stock boost levels, but anything over 9 psi and you are dancing with the devil without an intercooler, an intercooler will lower your intake tems by 100 degrees! I have the datalongs to prove it!

sorry, didn't mean to imply that I wouldn't be hooking up the intercooler, rather that I thought there might be some hot air that makes it's way into the engine through that connecting tube.

the idle circuit gets air from the "J" pipe, right in the middle, which is why most people just cut the "U" off of the "J" pipe and route to an IC form there, leaving the idle circuit in place
