As the title says, I have saved up for a year or so and I want to make one more big thing on the Q before I start ot have to start saving for college.....

So far, the only thing Ive thought of is my new interior which is needed... FULL katzkin leather with the Q__45 logo embroidered, maybe with suede, and with new seat bottom pads, so Id have basically as new seats...

I know for performance Im looking at either the BRM exhaust or 4.08, but I dont really want the 4.08 (Im going to go with a 90-93 transmission when this one goes out)... I am also possibly going to purchase the stillen exhaust from another member prospectively, as a seperate deal, so the BRM exhaust isnt in either..... Honestly I think [the exhaust] its an aweful lot of money for not much improvement, and 90% of the improvement would be from redesigning the rear muffler design.....

EDIT: I dont want to get rims and tires right now because I like what I have and Im going to use these for the rest of the year or so, and then Ill possibly upgrade later......

So whats that leave me??

Money leftover for a regular girlfriend that will be constantly impressed by the Q-ship. Get a dumb one, then tell her you installed a flux capacitor.

Ive been fortunate enough to have parents that have saved up enough to cover all of college... So thats not an issue..... Only savings would be for spending cash, and I will hvae all of next summer to save up for that...

No matter how much your parents have saved for you, it is always good to have a contingency fund. Few checks are truly blank, especially when they are cashed. The smart cookies are actually able to save money from grants and stipends, but they usually are tremendously talented.

Congrats on saving $1,000....that is a nice chunk of change for your age

I have to agree with others here Wes....save your monies for a rainy day, but I have been in your shoes before (14 years ago...yikes!!!) wanting to spend the monies today rather than tomorrow.

College is a bunch of fun.....don't know if you are planning on going away or being able to live at home and go to school....but either way college always finds ways to spend your monies if not a girlfriend....Spring Break less than 1 year away

Parents got you covered.

Spend the money. But spend it on something you love -- whether its shots of tequila (going out gets expensive), some girl that turns out to be a keeper (jewelry is pricey), a damn sharp suit (come on, everyone loves suits), or suede/leather seats for the Q.

Honestly, I'd get the body work done before the seats. Of course, thats coming from a guy whose Q is gorgeous outside with chewed up seat bottoms up front.

What do ya mean by that? Any ethic-group-mafia would be after anyone with serious cash, regardless if they're asian.

Inside joke, man. Believe it or not, the PC nazis dont follow you home from work. :P

Its kind of funny. I made a comment in another thread about the US Senior Open and my neighborhood being flooded by rich old white people (guess what, theyre ALL rich old white people!) and someone got offended.

I was just like come on... take a joke, have a laugh, and get over it.

Upholstery is not that expensive esp[ecially considering how much joy one gets out of fresh leather.

Click here to see a low mileage IPQ Q45t

Im thinking that has possibilities

A pimped out car at college is a liability, will get you the wrong kind of attention. Doesn't matter if you paid for it yourself or not. You'll still be perceived as a spoiled brat.

Only spend that money on your car if you HAVE to (necessary repairs).

Bah, come to my university. Its in the suburbs in one of the highest income areas of town. I sometimes feel like the poor kid in my old Q.

Most of my peers at the school of business plan to work for their parents.

a pimped out car will always get more attention...that is probably why most people pimp it out....for the attention

but for me...I can testify that me and my 1986 stripped down basic accord with nothing of value ever left inside at all got broken into 3 separate times in 2 years all parked in "clean" areas....here is what they took each time

1st time...pair of sunglasses that cost $10 from el cheapo side standpair of smelly basketball shoes

2nd time...a $50 calculator and a book

3rd time...4 blank recordable tapes where I had recorded music off the radio or copied a friends tapeless than $0.46 that was in my ash tray including my f_cking ash tray....I could not believe that they stole my damn ash tray also...cheap bastards...ohh and how do I know it was exactly $0.46...becuase my drunk tired a$$ try to buy myself 1 taco at taco bell the night before and when I got to the drive through window...I only had $0.46 to my name and she would still not give me that greasy taco

Wes, you're so innocent sometimes. Anyone knows that when you're drunk...a greasy taco is worth a lot more than .46.

Nick :)

LOL I knew what he meant (remember I work with drunk golfers all the time)!!! Not the taco bell taco's... ACtually their worth about 98c..... But thats beside the point!

Honestly I think we need to stop talking about tacos; this is for 240 general....
